Atlanta: a photo essay
August 12, 2007The Longest Walk
June 14, 2007We did it! Well almost, we decided to head home after over 16 miles. Give us a break it was 4 AM! Blisters and broken legs aside; the walk was great. We took pictures along our journey although they are not our most flattering. Thanks to everyone who supported us!
At South Street Seaport before the walk began. We had no idea what we were in for. The necklaces were color coded based on why you were walking. Orange = lost a sibling. Blue = supporting the cause.
43rd Street and 6th Avenue.
78th Street and Columbus Avenue.
106th Street andAmsterdam Avenue.
Riverbank Park, 145th Street and the Hudson River.
Back down at 42nd Street and the West Side Highway. Just before heading home to fall asleep.
It’s the little things…
April 30, 2007Dave = awesome
April 27, 2007Not that I ever doubted it, but it’s always good to have a little first hand reminder.
Mark and I went to see Dave and Tim Reynolds at Radio City (My third concert at Radio City in the last nine months). We had great seats thanks to Markie. The show was amazing, not a surprise to me at all. And, in an exciting turn of events, Dave played my fave tune (see video). As you’ll hear, I tried to get a little footage of Mark reliving his college days but it didn’t work.
Side note: this is my first video post! I know it’s blurry and dark. But also super neat.
Am I grown up?
April 4, 2007I’ve been wondering lately…am I all grown up? Some signs point to yes.
1) I live with a boy.
2) The newspaper comes to our house every weekend.
3) When Jessica told me she was out until midnight on a week night, my eyes got big.
4) I spend more time online shopping for furniture and home stuff than I do for clothes. Well,.. at least as much.
4) I happily spent $150 (on sale) on an ottoman/storage bench (see pic) for “spare linens.” (I actually used that phrase)
For Shelly.
March 29, 2007Anthony and I have decided to do The Out of the Darkness Walk this summer to raise money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. You start at sunset and walk all night for 20 miles until sunrise. It looks really amazing. If you want to learn more watch this, but be warned, you’ll be crying afterwards. I was.
We both have to raise $1000 to be able to walk. So help us. My Page and Anthony’s.
Why do I love all things crafty?
March 7, 2007I crave all things that are cute and makable. And since my new job has me less than busy I have been doing quite a bit of craft-related internet searching and browsing. I dream of the days when I have not only a craft room filled with supplies but also time with which to create the glorious items. I found this site yesterday and it is a gem. I could (and have) spent hours browsing all of the crafty goodness. You can even shop by color!
Old stuff is cool
February 6, 2007
Vintage valentines, old photos, postcards and letters. Nothing could stop me from ordering this unbelievably presh “Pile of Paper” from this ridiculously awesome site that Marth sent me. Apparently, it’s a pile of all kinds of old vintage papers and each pile is different. Which makes it even more fun! So I just ordered it this morning. I can’t wait. Can you even imagine the projects it might inspire… I’m hoping one of the items is so cool that I decide to scan it, print it huge and it can be a focal point in the as-yet-to-be-decided-upon apartment that Ant and I move into. Said mini-project could work well with the above note card.
Here goes…
February 1, 2007So, it’s true, I decided to jump on the bandwagon. I’m officially a “blogger” now. Not quite sure what exactly I’ll blog about but I’ve never been one to get caught up details. I figure I have a lot of opinions and it’s time I share them with the world. And by world I mean my mom, Margie, Marth, Tori and maybe Anthony if he’s really bored and not playing “wizards.” Stay tuned because the fun is only just beginning…
